DIVINE SIMULATION
To create this book, I used the Sims game to personify the abstract concepts and emotions that fill our lives.
As any Sims fan knows, the game is half about the sims you create, and half about designing their home. With this in mind, the book was not complete without showing each character in their home space, as well as an abstracted architectural layout of their room.
A BOOK ON BUILDING VISUAL ABSTRACTS
Each chapter is introduced with a group of characters that represent the foundations, values, or feelings of this simulated world.
The drop caps in every page reveal a hidden message.
The architectural graphic shows the characters room layout. Apathy, for example, has a bed with one pillow and haphazard dressers.
As characters are introduced, they join the breather pages until the world is in perfect chaos.
